Educational and Professional Background
Mr. Lapidus received a J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from the Washington College of Law, American University in 1970. The Dean of the College of Law, Claudio Grossman, has informed Mr. Lapidus that he is considered a “distinguished alumnus” for his professional accomplishments and long-term support for the law school.
He continued his legal education beyond the basic level, earning an LLM (Masters of Law) degree from Georgetown University Law School in 1976.
In between, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force in the capacity of a Special Agent in the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and as an officer in the Judge Advocate Generals’ Corps (JAG).
Mr. Lapidus has been in the private practice of law since 1974.
Admissions and Professional Memberships
Mr. Lapidus is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania as well as federal courts in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. He is also a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Lapidus has obtained numerous million-dollar verdicts and six-figure settlements in medical malpractice and automobile accident cases. His continued advocacy for compensation on behalf of negligence victims produced some of the most significant personal injury verdicts recorded in the Circuit Court of Prince George’s County and in the District of Columbia.
