On November 28, 2012, a Susan Blanchard Harris was crossing the intersection of East Central Avenue and West Shore Road in Edgewater when she struck by an oncoming vehicle. The accident which occurred at around 6:15am, happened after a Ford F-150 truck was going through the intersection and failed to avoid the pedestrian. The right side mirror of the truck had hit Blanchard in the head.
Blanchard remains in serious condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The driver of the Ford F-150 was uninjured.
