Regardless of the circumstances surrounding each accident, the loved ones of victims are left mourning and picking up the pieces in the aftermath. The incidents below are just some recent examples of tragic events that occurred on Maryland roads this year.

Maryland Man Dies in Prince George’s Crash

A 27-year-old Brandywine man died when his car left the roadway and struck a tree on December 7 in Cheltenham, Maryland. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Joshua Bandoo & Colby Boyd Lose Lives in Crash on Merritt Blvd. Near Eastern Ave.

During the early morning hours on December 16, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man lost their lives in a motor vehicle accident on Merritt Boulevard near Dundalk, Maryland. Local authorities reported a collision at the ramp from Merritt Boulevard onto Eastern Avenue, in which the two victims died at the scene and three others in the vehicle sustained injuries.

2 Dead After Car Veers Off Roadway in Maryland, Crashes Into Tree

Two people (a driver and a passenger) were pronounced dead at the scene of a single-car crash in Capitol Heights, Maryland, on November 28, 2021. Prince George’s County police were not sure what caused the vehicle traveling along Ritchie Road to leave the road and strike a tree. Along with the two fatalities, a third person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Just days before, a 32-year-old woman died in a very similar crash in Forestville, Maryland.

Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash in Clinton

On November 23, 2021, a three-vehicle crash occurred on Maryland Route 5 in Clinton, Maryland, after a 25-year-old man lost control of his 2012 Infiniti G37X and struck the rear of a 2014 Fiat 500L. Upon coming to a rest, the Infiniti was struck on the driver’s side by a 2015 Kia Sorrento; the driver of the Infiniti died at the scene, while the drivers of the Fiat and Kia were treated at a Washington, DC hospital for injuries.
