Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on Richmond Highway
In late January 2025, NBC4 reported on 33-year-old Erica Tibbs and her 5-year-old child, who were struck by a vehicle while crossing Richmond Highway (Route 1) at Buckman Road in Fairfax County, Virginia.
The driver, operating a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, abandoned the vehicle nearby and fled the scene. Tibbs was pronounced dead at the hospital, while her child sustained injuries but was reported in stable condition.
Authorities noted that Tibbs and her child were not in a crosswalk during the incident. However, the investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking public assistance to identify and locate the driver involved. There could be legal steps the victim’s family can take to receive a fair and reasonable settlement.
Greenbelt Pedestrian Accident
According to Yahoo! News, a 34-year-old man named Tejan Bah, died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Greenbelt Road late on February 5, according to Greenbelt police. Officers responded to the scene near the Baltimore Washington Parkway around 11:30 p.m., where they found Bah and performed CPR until medics arrived. He was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
